HORSEMEN'S
RATE is equal to the 12-time general advertising rate. Therefore, there are
no further discounts based on number of insertions once the Horsemen's Rate is
attained. Horsemen actively engaged in the Standardbred industry as owners,
breeders, trainers, or drivers qualify for the Horsemen's Rate.
PREFERRED POSITION: Rate for special position is 15% over page rate.
Preferred positions are inside front cover, pages 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, and 8, center
spread, back cover, inside back cover, and page facing inside back cover.
COLOR: One standard color is $75 additional per page or portion thereof.
Four color process is $170 per page or portion thereof, plus a $50 one-time
color separation charge if separations are not provided. Screens for additional
colors in four- color ads will be charged $30 each unless composite negs are
provided. Special order colors are $100 per color per page. Metallic ink is
available at $200 per color per page.
PRODUCTION CHARGES: Bleeds, reversals, and gray screens are charged at
$15 per page. Reproduction of black and white photos is $15 per photo.
Four-color ads with more than one photo will be charged at $15 per each
additional photo unless composite negs are provided.
AGENCY DISCOUNTS: Commission of 15% plus cash discount of 2% for payment
within 10 days following date of invoice for recognized advertising agencies
only.
Space only is commissionable. No commission allowed on color charges or
color separations. If it is necessary to prepare layouts, correct layouts, or
set advertisements in type, agency will be billed for all costs incurred.

NOTE: New Policy-Both advertiser and agency are jointly responsible for
payment. If payment is not received from agency within 60 days of billing, the
advertiser will be billed directly.

CLASSIFIED ADVERTISING: Classified
advertising is I 50 cents per word, minimum $15.00 order.
PRINTING SPECIFICATIONS: Please use 100 or 85 line screen for best
results, although we do accept up to 133 line screen. Negatives should be
right-reading with emulsion side down. Mid-America Standardbred & Harness
News uses a Macintosh system and: Quark XPress, Illustrator, and Photoshop for
ad design and can accept Zip disks or CD-ROMs.
ISSUANCE AND CLOSING DATES: Issue date is the first of each month.
Closing date is the 20th of the month preceding date of publication.
